- D Rate Response , Absorption , and Translocation of Two Ground Ivy Populations Eric Kohler

چکیده
Rationale Ground ivy is a stoloniferous, perennial weed that can persist in turf. Growing at soil level, stolons infiltrate surrounding vegetation and establish new populations, which result in non-uniform turf. Approximately 62,000 lbs of 2,4-D were applied to Indiana homelawns in 1992.. A 2001 survey of Indiana lawn care operators (LCO) found 79% of respondents used 2,4-D either alone or in combination with another herbicide to control ground ivy. Most LCO (86%) indicated that repeated herbicide applications were necessary for acceptable ground ivy control, suggesting chemical control of ground ivy is challenging for the lawn care industry. Widespread use and repeated applications of 2,4-D on turf sites could encourage development of 2,4-D-resistant ground ivy. Determining 2,4-D absorption and translocation patterns in 2,4-D-resistant and -susceptible ground ivy populations could ascertain whether these factors affect resistance and susceptibility, which could possibly lead to better control methods.

Cultural and Chemical Control of Ground Ivy (Glechoma hederacea)
Ground ivy is a common broadleaf weed that disrupts turf uniformity and is diffi cult to control. The objective of this fi eld research was to evaluate cultural and chemical control of ground ivy. Increasing annual nitrogen fertilizer applications from 0 to 196 and 293 kg·ha–1 reduced ground ivy cover by 24% and 32%, respectively. At 26 weeks after treatment, 1.1 kg·ha–1 isoxaben applied in May...

Extended abstract: Introduction: Reports indicate the invasion of two species of Ivy-leaved morning-glory (Ipomoea hederaceae Jacq) and Asian spider flower (Cleome viscosa L.) to summer crops fields such as soybeans in Golestan province. Considering the importance of knowing the cardinal temperatures of germination in the models for predicting the presence of weeds and consequently designing c...
متن کاملOptimization of Moving Wingin Ground Effect using Response Surface Method
Optimization of the sectional wing in ground effect (WIG) has been studied using ahigh order numerical procedure and response surface method (RSM). Initially, the effects of the ground clearance, angle of attack, thickness, and camber of wing have been investigated by a high-resolutionscheme, which is highlystrong and accurate. In the numerical simulation, Normalized Variable Diagram (NVD) sche...

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common form of childhood cancer leading to cancer-related death in children. Most infants with ALL harbor recurring structural chromosomal rearrangements that are important initiating events in leukemogenesis but are insufficient to explain the biology and heterogeneity of the disease. Mixed-lineage leukemia-rearrangement (MLL-rearrange...
